1979 February - 2005 May

The Eighties and Nineties were busy years, 5 children, Karen, Seana, Eamon, Danielle and Orla, 5 house moves, bills and morgages. Happy Days! However, after baby no.5, Eddies health became a cause for concern. Painful arthritis caused him to retire from Curleys but he still kept busy doing the odd job here and there while Bernie took over as breadwinner in Curleys. The children grew up and the grandchildren started to arrive. A bolthole was needed to escape! Hence the lovely caravan in Ballycastle. Perfect! But Holloween 2003, the bombshell - Eddie was diagnosed after numerous tests with the "Big C". This was the start of a gruelling year of chemotherapy which only gave him remission for a few precious months before the devestating news that the cancer had returned and indeed had spread. He fought long and hard but to no avail. Surrounded by his loving family, loyal friends and the wonderful staff from Belvoir Park Hospital, he passed away peacefully on 11th May, 2005.
